The old year fades, its stories told,
Like a hawker’s tale over kopi-o bold.
The sky awakes in hues of light,
As bright as Orchard’s festive night.

We leave behind what’s "so last year,"
Like last night’s chili crab, no need to fear.

We start again, a fresh New Year.

The clock strikes twelve, lah, don’t you know,
Marina Bay’s fireworks steal the show.
Resolutions come “chop chop” quick,
Like MRT trains, never miss a trick.

Each page unwritten, fresh and new,
Like Gardens by the Bay’s morning dew.
With open hearts, we brave the day,
Just like Singapore, we find our way.

So raise your glass of teh tarik high,
Toast to the stars in Singapore’s sky.
